Abstrakte Schmiedearbeiten

These works were my first attempts to use the power hammer as a means of shaping and forming, strongly inspired by the South African blacksmith Conrad Hicks. A defining aspect is the contrast between the forceful, almost aggressive imprint of the hammer dies and the soft, organic contours that emerge from the process. From these early experiments, a number of further works have developed over the years, including crosses and candle holders. Created in 2022.
